Amber sat perfectly still, her amber eyes looking around, at the water, the rocks, and back to Anna. "I've come to Forks, well I was visiting some friends, and I liked it here. Hardly every any sun, and I wanted to live as a human. I haven't ever gone to high school, in the modern sense, so I figured I'd try it out. It's alright, a little repetitive, but you get used to that after a three or four centuries."
A small blue butterfly flew by and her hand shot out. She captured the insect carefully in her hands, being extra careful not to touch it. She closed her hands and felt the butterfly beat frantically against her hand. She raised her arms above her head and opened them, releasing the butterfly into the sky. She watched as it flew away, and smiled softly. "And yes I suppose it's not surprising, what with all the new kids at school. But, no offense to you, it really does stink up the place." She laughed again, "But then I supposed us leeches don't smell so good to you do we?" She was sure her use of the word leeches would surprise the werewolf. It was generally a very degrading term for vampires, used only by werewolves.

Anna watched as the vampire's eyes flashed away and back to her. That seemed to be the universal sign of saying I'm not comfortable discussing this, but then she just came right out with her reasons. Vampires could be confusing. "I don't think I could attend high school over and over like you all do." Anna commented smoothing her hands down her dress. Anna watched the vampires super speed as she grabbed the butterfly straight from the air. It didn't bother her, her eyes could follow the movement. "I'm sure we smell hideous, but yes, that goes both ways. Leeches? So harsh on your own kind?" Anna question. She tried not to show how much the phrase starlted her. She didn't even use it herself. Her mother wouldn't allow such talk.

Amber grinned, "Hey this is my first time." She shrugged, "But I'll probably do it again, after century or two you get used to repeating stuff." She smiled and looked out over the water. She had been alive for more than four hundred years, older than the oldest Cullen, so she knew a lot about repeating things. "And as long as we agree to think the other stinks it's alright isn't it?" She asked trying to be friendly. She didn't want to end up hurting this werewolf, she seemed really nice. "And not all of us are leeches, the Cullen family is, neither is the Denali coven, as for the rest of us, we are. Me included."

Anna flipped her hair over her shoulder and sighed. Repitition was not something she enjoyed. She needed something to break up the grey of everyday. Usually that was hanging out with her best friend, that girl always made her laugh. Or dreaming about meeting the Cullen's. Did her mother have to make them sound so wonderful? Anna didn't just want to meet them now, she almost needed to meet them. She felt like something in her life was missing, like she had been told about chocoalte over and over but had never gotten to taste it for herself. "I agree, it's very...I think I can deal with it." Anna said with a slight laugh. She pictured hanging around with Amber at school. That would go over well with the huge and manly boys of the pack. Anna wouldn't care though. Amber seemed tollerable, completely nice if she were being honest with herself. The boys liked to pretend that they had power over her, but really only the pack leader could make her stop spending time with Amber, and Anna was going to be careful about how much he knew about this little meeting. Then Amber reminded her that she too killed humans by drinking them dry. "Leech is such a...it's just not the kindest phrase for a vampire. I know I have never used it." Anna told the other girl. Anna tried to remind herself that Amber only attacked murders, but it didn't help all that much. She could not like a murdered. Could she? However she did she liked Amber and she wasn't going to let the idiots stop her from being Amber's friend.

The vampire smiled, "Yeah leech is harsh, I'm just being realistic. No use in living in a fantasy world when there are monsters out there, that's what gets you killed." She pointed out running her manicured fingers through her light blond hair. "So if you don't mind me asking, what are you doing here? Isn't it unusual for a wolf to wander so near Forks? Please don't think I'm rude if I'm wrong, I'm just curious," She smiled and shrugged.

Living in a fantasy world. Well Anna didn't think the word vampire belonged in a fairy tale but she was correct, using the term leeches may in fact be Amber's way of staying in the reality of what they were? Anna didn't know. It was mostly just personal opinion and personally Anna didn't appreciate the phrase. It was like calling her a dog, which would not go over too well with Anna. Anna blushed as Amber asked why she was here, in Forks. She could lie..maybe she'd start out that way. Did she trust Amber? No that would be foolish, but telling her this was more of an embarrassment to her than telling her anything that could get her or others harmed. "My mother was born in Forks. I like to visit it," Anna began blushing a deeper shade of red as she continued, "I was also hoping to run into the Cullen's." She admitted. Pulling her knees up to her chest and resting her head on them slightly.

Amber watched the younger girl with wide amber eyes that, no matter how casual and relaxed she looked, were always bright and, slightly scary. She smiled a little at the werewolf's hesitation, though she knew it would be anything but comforting, she couldn't help but try. "It's cool your mom was born in Forks, it's a cool place. And as for running into the Cullen's, that's the last thing I expected to hear from a werewolf." She laughed a little. Amber knew the Cullen family a little, it was hard not to, with them living so close, but she didn't talk with them often, it was more, they knew her, she knew them and they mostly stayed out of the others way. Amber held a deep respect for the entire coven, they had succeeded where she had failed, in cutting humans out of her diet completely. She wished she could, but she hadn't realized it could be done until about a hundred years ago, and after more than three hundred years it was hard to change the way you lived.

Anna slipped her fingers back into the water, running the tips over the slippery surface of the nearest rock. "Yeah. I suppose it is pretty cool. She got to leave though. My grandma Renee took her to Arizona for awhile. So much sun." Anna almost laid back, closed her eyes at the thought of sunny Arizona. However there was a vampire present and although Anna knew she wasn't a murderer, or a threat to the Amber, she couldn't let her guard down entirely. Not yet. "The Cullen's, well I was named after Alice. My middle name is Alice. My mother was friends with them. I wanted to meet them as well." Anna whispered. She knew that Amber could hear her. It was She wondered if she like other vampires might think of her mother as being the Cullen's 'pet' for the time she was with them. She didn't care. She didn't know if she'd tell Amber what her mother was to Edward. If she didn't know already. It wasn't Anna's story to tell. She picked up a small rounded rock and rolled it between her fingers. Marveling at the perfectly round surface and how soft it was. "They are good people, the Cullen's." Anna finished, locking eyes with Amber. "Plus I cannot help what I am. I did not chose this life." Anna said with a slight sigh. Yes she loved being a shapeshifter, but some days she longed to be like Keira. A human. That way she could live knowing that she wouldn't burst into a wolf if she got angry and hurt some one. If she ever did what Sam Uley did to the beautiful Emily Young. She'd never forgive herself.

Amber shook her blond hair and examined her perfectly painted nails as she listened to Anna, "I've been to Arizona, it was nice, but I had issues with the sun. I don't mind it, it was the fact that if I got caught in it I was going to sparkle like I was covered in sequins..." She laughed a little at the memory, she had only spent a few months down south, and it had been a pain to have to stay out of the sun.
"So your mother is their friend, though pet is more the word that the nomad who told me used. I didn't believe her at first, then I thought about it, remembered it was Carlisle and it became much more believable. Your mother must be a one of a kind as to not scream and run away after finding out about vampires, if I was human I would have." She shrugged, then turned serious again. "But yes the Cullen's are good people, very good people, though if you do meet them you may want to be careful which of them you speak to first. Rosalie and Jasper, probably not a good idea, maybe not Emmett either and Edward, something is up with that boy." She rolled her eyes, she had only encountered the Cullen family twice, once many years ago, and when coming back, this time she had noted how different Edward had seemed, much more depressed, it was weird, but she hadn't pried, it wasn't her business, and her stupid unclear flashes of the future had been no help whatsoever. "I would advise talking to Alice, Carlisle or Esme, they're the most peaceful, and most likely not to go crazy around a werewolf, though if you want my advice, speak to Carlisle first, he's the oldest of them and therefore finds it the easiest to keep control."

Anna smiled slightly imagining Amber glittering like a disco ball at some warm town in Arizona. She'd look even more angelic then. Anna found herself wondering if while in Arizona Amber had killed some people. Drank some murders to death. She shuddered and tried to focus on what was going on here and now. "I don't think I would want to leave Washington. Not that I can anytime soon." Anna mumbled, paying far too much attention to her right shoe lace. Anna curled her fingers into tight little fists as the word pet came out of Amber's mouth. However she had expected such a thing and t wasn't Amber herself who said it. Even if it were, Anna wouldn't have been able to do anything about it. "Pet is not the correct term. The Cullen's treated my mother like family." Anna stopped herself, sighing slightly. If her mother had stayed with Edward, she would not exist. "You may be surprised by humans in this day and age, they seem to accept things far quicker than you might imagine." She spoke as if she too had seen hundreds of years instead of her short teenage amount. "I've heard stories about the Cullen's. I don't know what they would think, Bella's daughter, a shape shifter. A wolf. Made to attack their kind." Anna could almost weep when thinking of things that way. What if they didn't want to meet her because of what she was. Hell maybe they wouldn't want to meet her just because of who she was. Daughter of the one who should have been with there son. Daughter of Jacob Black. No she was proud of who she was and she knew that the Cullen's would accept her. Or at least thats the way she had spun things in her head. Carlisle was accepting of all, he had already met Keira and Dani Clearwater, so she shouldn't have a problem with him. Esme, so sweet and full of motherly love. She could accept Anna. Alice. Alice was her name sake! She had to like Anna. If she didn't Anna would be devastated. Edward...well things might be difficult with him. She didn't think because she was a wolf. More because of what had happened between him and her mother. Emmet. She was unsure of. He was a huge teddy bear according to her mother, but he was also extremely competitive and Anna was a rival species. Jasper. Jasper was a blank. The way her mother had described him. How he kept to himself in the graceful way, but he was kind and so very considerate. Then their was the long looks he gave Alice. Anna wanted just once to see it for herself. Rosalie. Well Rose was a problem. She thought maybe just the fact that she was so determined to meet them, that Rosalie might allow it just because she might admire her willfulness? Yes Anna was pushing things pretty far but these were the people she had been longing to meet since as far back as she could remember. "I thank you for your advise Amber. I know a lot about the Cullen's, but how they will react to me is still questionable." Anna sighed. It was physically painful to think about them not accepting her. Or worse seeing her as a threat and hurting or destroying her. For that in turn would kill her mother. Why did things have to be so complicated at times?

Amber nodded and looked over at the young werewolf, seeing the confusion and pain on her face she spoke softly, "They won't hurt you, no matter what history they have with your mother," Though she barely knew the Cullen family it was that she was sure of. "If I can stand here and not hurt you they can, from what I've heard vampires who feed only on animals tend to be far less violent and more inclined to think before acting, not like some nomads I've met." She rolled her eyes, there had been one particular nomad that had given her a bad feeling. She had had flaming red hair, deep crimson eyes, and had called herself Victoria.
"And even Rose wouldn't hurt you, she may be a fighter but the others wouldn't let her, they would stop her before she even knew she was going to, which I doubt she would ever decide." She sighed, "You'd be much safer with them than you are right now."

Anna who must look very much like her age at the moment worked to conceal her expression. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have-" Anna's voice trailed off s she shook her head. "I don't think the Cullen's will hurt me. I just want them to like me." She admitted after a moment. Telling Amber this may not make much of a difference but Anna hoped that telling her something private like this, a deep secret of hers, might bring them closer together. Might make Amber realize that she wanted her to be able to trust her. That she wanted to be her friend. You could never have too many friends and no matter what the pack said, Anna would befriend anyone who she thought was someone she could trust. "I haven't met a nomad as of yet." Anna explained. It might have been a really bad idea to do so. Telling this vampire that she had never had any experience with battling a vampire who threatened them. None had come to threaten La Push in quite some time. "I always loved hearing stories about Rosalie." Anna said, mind traveling back to some time long ago when she would beg her mother to hear more about Rose. Anna didn't seem at all surprised when Amber said, as if she discussed the weather, that she was more in danger with her, here, now. "I do not doubt it." Anna replied, her brown eyes locking with Amber's for a moment before she sighed and slid her fingers over the smooth surface of a stone.

Amber smiled at the werewolf and brushed some dirt of her jeans, "You're lucky you haven't met one," She said looking up at the cloudy sky. "Nomads are ruthless, most of them anyway, and they don't think twice about killing something, they don't care if they have families, they never stop to wonder what they're doing to the world." She was staring off into the distance now, her amber eyes wide. She wasn't talking about any nomad now, she was remembering what she had been, for three hundred years of her life. "If they stopped to think, even for a moment, it could make a difference, they might hesitate next time they go out to hunt, or maybe not, but there's always that chance that they will..." She sighed and looked down at the ground, but she was unable to meet the werewolf's gaze, she felt like the guilt of what she had done was going to overwhelm her.
"I don't know Rosalie well, but she's got spirit that's for sure, she kind of reminds me of myself when I was that age." She smiled, but it was a halfhearted smile, her mind was still in the past, digging up things she would have rather left buried forever. Memories of some the the people she had hunted flashed through her mind, and she knew her eyes widened. They had been people, innocent people, they had done nothing wrong, and she had killed them. The only way she could live with herself now was because she liked to think she was saving a life of an innocent human, by hunting the monsters that she could.

"I hope to never meet a Nomad. I cannot say that I will never do so, but I hope I do not." Anna sighed and fished her hand from the water her brown eyes shutting for a split second before opening again. "I know what I'll have to do if one threats the humans around me and although I am made to be this weapon, I don't want to use what I am for such purposes." Anna watched Amber's face as what she was saying went from Nomads to something far more personal. "Amber I am not going to judge you on your past. I did not know you then. I know you know and I see that you are not like those Nomads any longer. I see that you are trying. That is all that matters to me." Anna was slightly shocked as she said it. Who was this girl who forgave the killings of humans so quickly? Well she wasn't exactly forgiving, more like trying to forget. She could be Amber's friend because she was who she was now, not who she was then. "Rosalie, she's over come quite a lot in her life. Just as I am sure you have as well. I admire her strength." Anna explained. Really all of the Cullen's had been through and survived a lot. Some things that Anna herself didn't know if she could handle. Some of the things, like Alice and Jasper's stories, she knew for sure she couldn't handle. "At least you learned from it." Anna smiled, "Or at least thats what my grandfather says to me."
